The soldier Poem Summary: The Soldier is an instructive and inspiring Sonnet by the famous British soldier-poet, Rupert Brooke. The poem expresses the feeling of a British Soldier, fighting on foreign soil for the honour and glory of his country England.

The poet has actually done a romantic glorification of Wars and Battles celebrating patriotism. The soldier knows that life in wars and battles is uncertain. However, the soldier is too brave to fear death.

He remembers the roads, rivers, flowers, sun, and air of England with fondness. He cannot forget the laughter of his friends with whom he spent some time of his life.
